Hello everyone!
こんにちは！

We are going to study abroad in Manila, the Philippines for 56 days.
私たちグローバルコースの１年生は、1/11-3/7までマニラで研修を行います。

Today, I would like to share our two-day interaction with students from Assumption Antipolo before our departure.
出発に先立ち、２日間に渡ってAssumption Antipoloの生徒さんと交流しましたので、その様子をお伝えします。

During the first Zoom meeting, we got into groups and talked about our families.
最初の交流では、家族構成などについて話しました。

Large families are rare in Japan, but not uncommon in the Philippines. Many students there have siblings.
日本では大家族は珍しいですが、フィリピンでは珍しくありません。多くの生徒さんたちに兄弟がいました。

I also learned that many of them have great respect for their parents.
また、多くの人が両親をとても尊敬していることも知りました。

One student I talked with said she wanted to become a doctor like her father.
I was surprised because I had never thought that way before.
父親と同じ医者になりたいという生徒がいました。私はそのように考えたことがなかったので驚きました。

Through this interaction, I learned that Filipinos really cherish and respect their relationships with their family members.
今回の交流を通して、フィリピンの人々は家族を大切にしていて、尊敬していることを学びました。

On the second day, we changed group members and gave presentations about our own

languages.
２日目はメンバーを変えて、言語についてプレゼンテーションし合いました。

When the meeting started, I was happy to see my Filipino friend who had been in the same group as me before!
Zoomに入った時、前回同じ班だったフィリピンの子にまた会えてとても嬉しかったです！

In the presentation, some students taught us slang from their country, while others introduced proverbs.
プレゼンテーションでは、自分の国のスラングを教えあったり、ことわざを紹介しました。

We enjoyed free conversation using the slang we had learned and had a great time.
教えてもらったスラングを使ってフリートークを楽しみました。

I can’t wait to see my friends in Antipolo in February!!
2月に彼女たちに会うのが待ちきれません!!
